ABOUT US

In 1983, after completing his apprenticeship and working for a couple of garages in Newbury, Chris decided he wanted to work for himself and Chris Fidler Garage Services came into being.

Chris started as a mobile mechanic, working from the back of a Ford Transit van, however, when he found this to be no longer practical, he rented a workshop in Headley.

Chris soon realised that being so far out of Newbury was not very convenient either for himself or his customers, and subsequently moved into the present premises, his garage on Bone Lane, Newbury, where the business has been based for the past 33 years.

Chris Fidler Garage Services enjoys a very good reputation and indeed, it's not unusual for young people looking for their first garage to come in and say “my Grandad told me to come here” and even for customers who have moved out of the region, to continue to bring their vehicles to our Newbury garage.

Because we have a very loyal and substantial customer base, we do tend to get quite booked up in advance, so if you would like us to carry out any work on your car for you, please do try and give us as much notice as possible, especially if you have a specific date in mind.

THE TEAM

The great service we provide and the good reputation that we enjoy, is very much down to the excellent staff that we have working with us. They are all very well qualified (we also have a specialist car electrician on site) and have a wealth of experience between them. In fact, our longest serving member of staff has been with us for just over 25 years and our newest 8 years.
